UCLA wins 2024 NC men’s volleyball championship

(1) UCLA men’s volleyball beat (2) Long Beach State 3-1 in the 2024 NC men’s volleyball national championship on Saturday, May 4. The Bruins are now back-to-back champions and extend their program titles to 21, extending the all-time record for NCAA men’s volleyball national titles. This was the second time in three years that Long Beach State has made it to the finals (2022, 2024).

The 2024 NC men’s volleyball championship ran from April 30 to May 4 in Long Beach, California at Walter Pyramid. The NCAA Men’s Volleyball Committee announced on Sunday, April 21, the eight teams competing for the 2024 national championship.

2024 NCAA NC men’s volleyball championship history

The NC men’s volleyball national championship dates back to 1970, skipping 2020 due to COVID-19, with the first-ever championship trophy going to UCLA. The Bruins hold 21 national titles, which makes them the winningest team in sport history. 

UCLA was crowned the 2023 national champion after taking down Hawaii in four sets.

In its first-ever appearance at the NCAA DIII men’s volleyball championship, Cal Lutheran won the 2024 national title in straight sets over Vassar in Dubuque, Iowa at the Athletic Wellness Center.
