Former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad is in Ayodhya for the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Ram Mandir. He is amongst several other cricketers and former stars who have been invited to the ceremony in Uttar Pradesh.
Prasad took to social media platform ‘X’ to post a video of himself in Ayodhya while chanting ‘Jai Shree Ram’.
“Say it , Sing it , Roar it. Jai Shree Ram,” read the caption for Prasad’s video.
Ram Mandir will be inaugurated today in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya, four years after the landmark Supreme Court judgement. The mega event will feature the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Ram Lalla (idol of infant Lord Ram), with the rituals led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
This momentous occasion, the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Ram Lalla’s idol at the grand temple, will be presided over by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The ceremonial enthronement of Ram Lalla at the shrine’s sanctum-sanctorum is set to take place in Ayodhya.
Athletes and former cricketers like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Sachin Tendulkar have also been invited to attend the ceremony in Ayodhya.
The inauguration of the Ram temple is being attended by several politicians, industrialists and film stars. The likes of Amitabh Bachchan, Vicky Kaushal, Katrina Kaif and Ayushman Khurana have arrived in Ayodhya.
Respecting traditional Nagara style, the Ram temple dominates in size, with a length of 380 feet, 250 feet width, and a height of 161 feet. Designed by architects Chandrakant Sompura and his son Ashish, the temple complex spreads across 70 acres, with the main area itself covering 2.7 acres and a built-up area of about 57,000 square feet.
An investment of Rs 1,800 crore has been poured into the grand structure, with finance sources being the donations collected by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The Trust amassed over Rs 3,500 crore from well-wishers all over India and overseas.
