Leny Yoro has revealed why he joined Manchester United, claiming that it is the biggest club in the world. Yoro joined United during the summer transfer window, with the Red Devils beating some serious competition for the signature of the young defender. The 18-year-old was being chased by Real Madrid and Liverpool among others, but ultimately he decided to head to Old Trafford.
Speaking to TNT Sports and Rio Ferdinand, Yoro claimed that everything is big at Manchester United. The defender even joked that he didn’t expect things to be this big at United but said he had no complains as he feels everything is good at the club.
“For me Man Unitedâæ the club is the biggest in the world. When I was the young – the players who were here, the history, the fans – everything is big here.”
“I don’t know if I was ready [to expect it to be this big]! But I will not complain, it’s really good. The fans, the stadium, everything is good,” said Yoro.
What fans can expect from Yoro
Yoro is currently sidelined with an injury he suffered during pre-season with United and is expected to be back around November. When asked what fans could expect from him after he returns, the 18-year-old said that he tries to be intelligent on the pitch and understand the game and the opponent.
Yoro also said that at Lille, he would often look at the clips of the opposition strikers to understand their movements.
“I try to be intelligent on the pitch, to play with my head, to understand the game, the opponent. And to be calm. Be calm with the ball, when I defend.”
“When I was in Lille, every weekend I was looking at clips of the striker to understand the movements, how he wants to receive the ball. This helps a lot,” said Yoro.
The French defender is slowly making progress with his recovery as he had posted on social media showing the work he is putting in at the moment.
