Kylian Mbappé of Paris Saint-Germain put on an incredible display, defeating Real Sociedad 2-1 and with a 4-1 aggregate Champions League triumph.

PSG are now headed to the Champions League quarter-finals.

Mbappé, who is on the verge of leaving PSG, opened each half with a well-executed goal to highlight his extraordinary abilities.

From the start, PSG capitalised on counterattacks, with Mbappé’s lightning-fast pace creating constant threats. The French captain’s impact was undeniable, scoring 11 of PSG’s last 15 Champions League knockout goals. Reflecting on the match, Mbappé stated, “We knew right away that we couldn’t go to sleep. If they had opened the scoring, they would have pushed on with their fans’ backing.”

Mbappé’s first goal in the 15th minute displayed his finesse, receiving a long pass from Ousmane Dembele and skillfully curling the ball into the far corner. The sold-out Reale Arena fell silent, captivated by Mbappé’s vision and technique. His second goal came in the 56th minute, as he confidently converted a pass from Lee Kang-in, sealing PSG’s dominance.

Despite Real Sociedad’s attempts to rally in the second half, PSG’s disciplined defense and Mbappé’s brilliance proved insurmountable. PSG Coach Luis Enrique praised Mbappé’s lethal abilities, stressing the importance of dampening the home team’s hopes early in the game.

Real Sociedad, grappling with injuries and a recent dip in form, struggled to match PSG’s intensity. A late consolation goal by Mikel Merino in the 89th minute couldn’t alter the outcome, as PSG secured a well-deserved spot in the Champions League quarter-finals.
