KKR vs SRH: Shreyas Iyer and Pat Cummins pose at iconic Marina beach with IPL trophy

Shreyas Iyer and Pat Cummins decided to take the IPL trophy on a tour around Chennai and posed with the title at the iconic Marina beach ahead of the final on May 25, Saturday. KKR and SRH will be locking horns at the Chepauk stadium on Sunday, May 26 in the all-important final. KKR will be chasing their third title as SRH look to add a second star above their logo on the shirt. Both teams ended the leage phase in the first and second spots respectively.

IPL posted a collection of photos of both the SRH and KKR skippers posing with the title at the Marina beach ahead of the final and both men seemed to be in high spirits. Most of the pictures had both men posing on a boat in the beach with the trophy having purple and orange ribbons on it. You can see all the images right below:

Both teams have faced each other twice this season already with KKR winning both the games.

KKR and SRH’s road to the final

KKR and SRH faced each other in their opening match of the IPL 2024 campaign, which was a thriller at the Eden Gardens. Kolkata edged past Hyderabad in the end by 4 runs on March 23. Both teams have been scoring big in the tournament with SRH breaking the record for the highest total in the history of the tournament twice.

KKR, on the other hand, scored 272 against DC. Both teams found success with their opening partnerships in the form of Sunil Narine/Phil Salt and Abhishek Sharma/Travis Head. The bowling departments of both sides have also been right on the money this season.

KKR ended the leage phase with 9 wins and 3 losses to their name with 2 matches being washed out. SRH won 8 matches and lost 5 with one being a washout. Kolkata reached the final after they beat Hyderabad in Qualifier 1 by 8 wickets.

This forced SRH to play RR in Qualifier 2, which they were able to win with a superb bowling performance.
