Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta hopes for some help from David Moyes’ West Ham United

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is hoping for a favour from his former manager David Moyes as the Premier League title race enters the final day of the season. Moyes’ West Ham United will be facing Manchester City in the final game while Arsenal take on Everton. City needs a win to seal the title while Arsenal would need Pep Guardiola’s side to lose the game.

Arteta used to play under Moyes’ management at Everton and is hoping his former boss can give them a helping hand with a win on Sunday. However, Arteta stressed that the first part of the day is winning against Everton and they would need to do that before hoping for the help from West Ham United.

“He’s been instrumental and so important in my career, as a footballer and a person. He could help us to fulfil our dream and my personal dream to win the Premier League,” Arteta told reporters on Friday.

“The only thing we’ve discussed is to give ourselves an opportunity to live a beautiful day. It’s possible, it’s football. We have to play like every single week.”

“We have to win, then hope West Ham to help us achieve us our dream. That first part is on us, it’s the only thing we can focus on.”

Can’t think negatively

Arsenal missed out on the title last season by 5 points in the end. Arteta said that he doesn’t want to think would happen if they’re unable to win the title in the end. The Gunners boss said that they need to win the game and hope something beautiful would happen.

“I can’t think like this. We have to win the game and we hope something beautiful is going to happen,” he said.

“If I don’t believe today, imagine how much I could believe in August. From August, 38 games against Man City after what they’ve done in 12 or 13 years, and what we’ve done in that time… we can’t think like this.”

Arsenal currently have 86 points to their name with City having two more.
