After India contract snub, Chahal shines with 4-wicket haul in DY Patil T20 Cup

Yuzvendra Chahal was stupendous while playing for Income Tax in their match against Canara Bank on Tuesday, March 5 in the DY Patil T20 Cup 2024 in Navi Mumbai.

Chahal finished with figures of 4-0-22-4 as Income Tax beat their opponents by 135 runs. The leg-spinner got the wickets of Pallav Kumar Das, Manoj Bhandage, Rajoo Bhatkal and Milind Ramesh.

On the back of his spell, Income Tax bowled their opponents out for 109 in 16 overs while defending a mammoth score of 244.

Chahal has not had the best of times of late. Earlier, Chahal didn’t feature in the list of India men’s centrally contracted cricketers.

He will look to bounce and show his worth for the Men in Blue in the T20 World Cup 2024 in the West Indies and United States of America (USA).

Chahal gets set for Rajasthan journey

After taking part in the DY Patil T20 Cup, Chahal will represent the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Chahal is currently the all-time leading wicket-taker in the history of IPL, having taken 187 wickets from 145 matches with 6 four-wicket hauls and 1 five-wicket haul to his name.

Last year, Chahal was the pick of the bowlers for the Royals in the IPL. In 14 matches, the leg-spinner picked up 21 wickets at an economy rate of 8.17, although his team failed to go through to the playoffs.

In 290 T20 matches, Chahal has picked up 336 wickets at an economy rate of 7.61 with 2 five-wicket hauls to show for his efforts.
