There’s just over a week before Halloween is upon us.

In the days leading up to the spooktacular holiday, there is still so much to take in, from pumpkin farms to corn mazes to Ghost Walks at Exhibition Place.

As October winds down, take part in some of scary-fun festivities as there is so much for thrill-seekers and Halloween-lovers to do this time of year.

Here’s what you need to know to make the necessary plans. (Costumes not required, but where’s the fun in that?)

Halloween Nights of Lights and Pumpkinville

Have a blast at this two-in-one event that promises festive fun but also an opportunity to support Epilepsy Toronto, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals and families affected by epilepsy.

The walk-through experience is bigger and better, featuring more than two million lights animated and synchronized to your favourite Halloween tunes.

The fun continues inside Pumpkinville, a fun fair featuring a larger-than-life village of pumpkin sculptures.

Running until Oct. 31 at Scarborough Town Centre, Pumpkinville is open from noon to 11 p.m. on weekends and 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays.

St. Joe’s Toronto West Halloween Fest

Most kids will find any excuse to dress up and on this special day, they can take part in a costume parade and trick-or-treat trail, enjoy a Halloween magic show and listen to some spooky storytelling.

All the hair-raising fun is at Sherway Gardens on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, click here.

Halloween at the Farm

Just because it’s that spine-tingling time of year doesn’t mean you can’t visit with some animals. Feed them their favourite treats, carve pumpkins, go on a hay ride, eat vegan baked goods and take in the gorgeous surroundings.

Illumi

As darkness falls, kids of all ages will encounter monsters, ghosts, witches, and thousands of pumpkins and jack-o’-lanterns lit up by more than 20 million brilliant LEDs that transform the night sky, bringing to life 13 magical universes.

Howl’oween

Paw-parents and their furry babies can take part in a beloved event filled with warm drinks, local vendors, an adorable costume parade and amazing prizes for the best-dressed canines.

Fort York After Dark

Take a lantern tour as you hear about the chilling tales of Fort York and its historic surroundings where you can explore the military burial ground, and learn about the fort’s history and its paranormal mysteries.

Prepare to be terrified at Fort York National Historic Site on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Halloween at the Village

Take part in ghastly activities and hair-raising happenings where kids of all ages can conduct creepy experiments, learn about the wickedness of witchcraft and wizardry and make a powerful witches’ brew.
