I would like, on behalf of Canadians, to acknowledge and apologize to the vast majority of rank and file RCMP officers. I know that you entered the force with the best of intentions, and continue to do your utmost to serve and protect. Sadly, and as you well know, your police force has been politically compromised. Please, continue doing the important work you do. You have our full support.

Industry needs stability
When Rachel Notley and her NDP were the government from 2015 till 2019, foreign investment fled from our province in a mass exodus. If governments, federal and provincial, do not give certain guarantees to foreign and local investment the affected industries will either move on, or cease operation. This is how the cookie crumbles.

Carbon mathematics
The carbon tax has just jumped 30%, from $50 a ton to $65 a ton. The increase is almost five times the current rate of inflation. It’s about the same as the wage demands unionized employees at the CRA are clamouring for. The carbon tax increase is seven times higher than the Central Bank rate, almost five times higher than prime rates offered by the banks and four and a half times higher than the best rates offered on savings accounts. It’s 31% higher than the 22.9% interest rate charged on credit cards. The carbon tax increase is about five times higher than the indexed increase CPP recipients will receive this year. It’s three times higher than the old age security increase Canadians over 75 will receive this year. It’s about three times higher than food inflation and will contribute to more increases just in transportation costs. Trudeau says he has the backs of middle class Canadians. I think he’s a lot closer to the seventh planet from the sun.

Out of touch
I don’t know what part of the universe the Calgary Flames reside in, but you don’t start playing hockey with a handful of games left, expecting to make the NHL playoffs. If the Flames miraculously do make the playoffs, what kind of dent will they make in the second season?
