Not what ‘budget’ means

(Re: Tax and spend — Liberals hike capital gains tax, hit firms to pay for agenda, online, April 16.) To me, the word “budget” means spending within your means. This Liberal government has never done that and seems to go out of its way to drive Canada and Canadians deeper into debt. Is Trudeau hoping that by doing so he can bribe taxpayers into giving him another chance? He’s had more than eight years to do right by us and has failed miserably every time. The only people he wants to help are himself and his cronies. This budget is just more promises that will never be kept, money spent that will never be accounted for and a national debt that will sink us. I hope to God this budget is not passed, that a vote of non-confidence is passed and Canadians can get rid of Trudeau. We deserve better.

Those budget shoes

Sorry, but I have not listened to or read one word in the media about the new federal budget. As far as I’m concerned, there is probably not one word in it that will benefit me on my next trip to No Frills. For seniors like me, it will still be “one Big Mac” this month again instead of two! And thank goodness I don’t have to buy gas anymore. It seems to me that the Liberals are simply dumping a monetary mess into the hands of the next Conservative government. Let’s hope, though, that the NDP ‘kingmaker’ will opt for a new election as soon as possible to install a new monarch! By the way, does anyone at the Sun know who paid for the “new shoes”?

(This budget was a spending hot mess for a rudderless government only crassly trying to hold on to power.)

Trudeau not listening

It seems great editorials and letters about Trudeau and out-of-control spending have fallen on deaf ears His aggressive taxing has crushed Canadian family budgets plus our economy but no one seems to care. The 2024 federal budget increases taxes on capital gains that could affect future investments in Canada while spending 15 billion dollars building 30,000 apartments and raising military spending. Economists fear tax-weary Canadians might see higher federal taxes in The Land Of The Rising Taxes, eh?!

(Will they ever listen?)

Sock salesman

Some people are saying Trudeau won’t quit because he has nothing to fall back on. I’m sure he could get a job as a sock salesman for one of the Chinese businesses he so admires.
