Donald Trump Jr. calls reporter ‘clown’ at RNC kickoff

Donald Trump Jr. wasn’t clowning around at the Republican National Convention.

But he says a reporter fits the description.

It all started when an MSBC reporter on the ground in Milwaukee asked Trump Jr. about the Trump administration’s family separation policies.

“Will we continue to see policies like separating 5,000 children deliberately from their parents?” the reporter asked.

To which Trump Jr. responded: “You mean the Obama administration?”

The reporter snapped back.

“You know, they didn’t do that, sir. Will there be a second family separation policy?”

At that moment, Trump Jr. had clearly heard enough.

“It’s M-S-D-N-C. So I expect nothing less from you. Clowns.”

He added: “You couldn’t wait. You couldn’t wait with your lies and with your nonsense. So just get outta here.”

Part of Trump’s “zero tolerance” initiative during his term of president that began in 2017, the administration’s family separation policy formalized the separation of children from parents to deter future illegal immigration.

Cheering GOP delegates formally nominated Trump for president at Monday’s Republican National Convention kickoff, less than two days after an assassination attempt on the former president and shortly after he announced Ohio Sen. JD Vance would be his vice presidential running mate.

Their vote makes it official that Trump, who has long been the presumptive nominee, will lead the GOP in a third consecutive election. The winner in 2016, he lost to current President Joe Biden in 2020. In November, he will again face Biden, who dismissed Vance as “a clone” of Trump on important issues.
