Shubman Gill’s Run Out on 91 Draws Flak for Kuldeep Yadav in India vs England 3rd Test | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: India started the fourth day’s play of the third Test against England in Rajkot on a strong note on Sunday as Shubman Gill and Kuldeep Yadav completed a 50-run stand for the third wicket.
Gill was nearing his 4th Test hundred and Kuldeep had hit his first six in international cricket.
But as India were nearing the 250-run mark, disaster struck as England got a bonus wicket.
Tom Hartley tossed up the last delivery of the 64th over outside off. Kuldeep skipped down the track and looked to hit back over the bowler but ended up dragging it towards wide mid-on. Gill was already halfway down the track as England captain Ben Stokes got to the ball quickly, and fired a throw back to the bowler.
Gill was a touch too late to turn around and dive back in, just inches short of his ground as the bowler whipped the bails off in a flash.
Kuldeep took a couple of steps down the wicket before sending Gill back, it was Kuldeep’s call.
Gill (91) walked off the field extremely disappointed as there was a hundred for the taking.
Gill hit 2 sixes and 9 fours in his knock.
JioCinema, the official broadcaster, shared a video of the dismissal on X:

Soon after the dismissal, Kuldeep faced flak on social media with users blaming him for Gill’s run out.
