IPL 2024 Playoffs: It’s KKR vs SRH in Qualifier 1; RCB face RR in Eliminator | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Rain played a spoilsport on Sunday evening as IPL 2024 edition’s final league stage game between Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders got washed out in Guwahati.
Looking to return to winning ways after four defeats on the trot, Royals got no game time in their last game against table-toppers KKR as the match got abandoned with only toss taking place.
As both teams shared a point each, Royals hopes of securing a top-two finish were dashed.
In the Sunday’s afternoon game as SRH secured a four-wicket win over Punjab Kings, the win came as a big boost for the Orange Army as it propelled them into the top two, pushing Royals to the third spot.
And then the RR vs KKR washout meant that the points table had KKR, SRH, RR and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the top four.
While KKR ended the league stage at the top with 20 points, SRH were second with 17 points and pipped Royals (17 points) to second spot on the basis of a better net run rate.
RCB’s thrilling win on Saturday over Chennai Super Kings meant they had 14 points and booked the fourth place, pipping the defending champions, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants — all at 14 points — on NRR.
With the final points table now confirmed, here are the matches for the playoffs:
* Kolkata Knight Riders will face Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 1 on May 21 in Ahmedabad for a direct place in the IPL 2024 final.

* On May 22 in Ahmedabad, Rajasthan Royals will lock horns with Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Eliminator clash.
* The winner of the Eliminator between RR and RCB will then face the loser of Qualifier 1 in the Qualifier 2 on May 24 with the action shifting to the south of India in Chennai.
* The winner of Qualifier 2 will then meet the winner of Qualifier 1 in the IPL final on May 26 in Chennai.
