Bangladesh dominate Pakistan to secure historic series sweep | Cricket News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: Bangladesh achieved a historic sweep of their two-Test series against Pakistan on Tuesday, completing a six-wicket victory in the second Test. The tourists reached their target of 143 runs on the final day, losing only four wickets in the process.
Shakib Al Hasan hit the winning boundary, with Mushfiqur Rahim also unbeaten at the crease.
This series win marks only the second time Bangladesh has won a bilateral series of two or more Tests away from home, with their previous triumph coming against the West Indies in 2009 as per AFP.
The visitors dominated the series, winning the first Test by 10 wickets and requiring just four days to secure victory in the second, despite the first day being washed out in Rawalpindi.

Bangladesh’s second innings ended on 185-4, with significant contributions from opener Zakir Hasan (40), captain Najmul Hossain Shanto (38), and Mominul Haque (34). The top order’s resilience effectively thwarted Pakistan’s hopes of a dramatic comeback.
Pakistan’s miserable home record in Tests has now extended to 10 matches without a win, with their last home victory coming against South Africa at Rawalpindi in December 2021.
Shan Masood, who was appointed as the test skipper last year, has now suffered two consecutive clean sweeps, having previously lost 3-0 to Australia.
