High-stakes drama in the Conference of Champions leads to major movement in NCAA.com correspondent Autumn Johnson’s women’s basketball Power 10 rankings.
Here’s a look at Johnson’s complete selection:
- South Carolina (Previous: 1) – South Carolina is still on the throne! We’ll finally get to see the lone undefeated team go up against the defending national champs, LSU, Jan. 25 on a national stage for College GameDay!
- UCLA (4) – Thanks to a win over Colorado and other upsets around the NCAA, the Bruins reclaim the No. 2 spot.
- Colorado (6) – As mentioned previously, Colorado fell to UCLA but would avenge an earlier loss to USC in Sunday’s battle.
- Kansas State (7) – The Wildcats extended their winning streak to 13 despite being without All-American Ayoka Lee, who suffered an ankle injury.
- Iowa (2) – The Hawkeyes suffered just their second loss of the year to then-No. 18 Ohio State, falling previously to K-State. Caitlin Clark had her 11th 40-point game in her career, but it wasn’t enough to slow down a scorching hot Buckeye team that was paced by Cotie McMahon’s 33-point, 12-rebound performance.
- UConn (8) – More Big East dominance for the Huskies, who won their fourth-straight game by at least 30 Saturday against DePaul.
- Stanford (9) – How about Kiki Iriafen with a career-high 36-point, 12 rebounds performance versus Oregon State, which helped Tara VanDeveer become the all-time winningest coach in college basketball history!
- LSU (10) – Mulkey’s crew cruised past Arkansas Thursday, now looking ahead to a blockbuster matchup with No. 1 South Carolina Thursday.
- Southern Cal (3) – A tough week for the Trojans, falling to ranked PAC-12 foes Utah and Colorado.
- NC State (5) – The Wolfpack take a major hit after losing to unranked Miami (Fla.) by 14 points!
