TCU got just enough to edge past the Cavaliers 4-3 to stay alive in the MCWS. Both teams entered today’s matchup after dropping their first games in Omaha to late rallies (both lost 6-5).
TCU broke the 1-1 tie in the third inning with a grounder that scored Karson Bowen. Three innings later, Anthony Silva advanced to home off a Elijah Nunez single.
In the seventh, Ethan Anderson smacked a leadoff shot 387 feet over the wall to get the Cavaliers within one.

The Horned Frogs bought some insurance on Austin Davis’ double to center that plated Silva for the second time. Harrison Didawick made it a one-run game for UVA once again in the eighth with a single, steal and score off a grounder. Despite hitting a double in the ninth, the ‘Hoos couldn’t get past TCU closer Ben Abeldt, who threw two strikeouts to close the inning.
TCU will next play on Tuesday.
