As the weather turns a little cooler, we take a look at some of the latest running apparel that’s perfect for autumn training

Janji – Men’s 5” AFO Middle Short – £55.00
With a weightless feel to them, these ultralight shorts provide a ‘barely there’ feeling. The fast-drying outer shell and highly breathable inner liner are soft against the skin and fit to help you keep dry throughout even the most arduous workout. A knitted waistband and external facing drawstring removes the chance of irritation and makes for a comfortable fit.

Janji – Men’s 8” Trail Half Tight – £80.00
Many runners now prefer to run in half tights, particularly in longer events and marathons because of the increased storage options they can offer. These tights are among the best around in terms of storage. With two stretch pockets on each leg, rear gel pockets and a pass-through pocket that can be reached from either side, the storage combinations here are plentiful.
There’s even a small clip to hold keys securely – these guys have thought of everything! The fit and feel are great thanks to the soft handle, moisture-wicking fabric and the four-way stretch that accommodates any movement, making these great for daily training and race day. ASICS – Fujitrail SS Top – £67.00
This slim fit, half zip top proves to be a versatile option for cooler autumnal days. The waffle knit construction manages to retain heat, while the half zip allows for temperature regulation. It’s perfect as a base layer or on its own should the weather permit. Available for both men and women (Picture below, left)

The brand’s range-topping shorts are equally as good for any running as well as on the trails. With a broad stretch waistband that doubles up as a belt, there’s plenty of storage options here. The two-in-one construction means stretch short tights sit beneath the lightweight outer shell to provide support and comfort.

Sealskinz – Ultra Lightweight Waterproof Foldable Running Cap – £35.00
This is the brand’s lightest running hat to date, where the trusted Aquasealz technology is used to combine complete waterproofness with breathability. Under Armour – Crinkle Woven Jacket – £80.00
In a stylish change from the usual jackets, this one provides water-repellent protection through the UA Storm technology, without sacrificing breathability. The crinkle-look fabric is lightweight and durable and with a drawstring at the waist, the style allows a more custom fit as well as a stylish look that stands out from the crowd.

The soft handle of these leggings, along with flat seams and four-way stretch construction, makes them, as the name suggests, simply vanish, such is the snug, highly tailored fit. The lightweight fabric is moisture-wicking and highly breathable, keeping you dry however hard you are working.
The body-mapped design and high-rise no-slip waistband provide a flattering fit which stays in place. Side drop-in pockets are great for essentials that you want with easy reach, making these leggings great for training on cooler days.
