NEW DELHI: The 2024 edition of the Indian Premier League concluded on a high note with Kolkata Knight Riders securing their third title, accompanied by a substantial prize money of INR 20 crore. Their triumph over Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai not only brought them the prestigious trophy but also a significant financial reward.
The total prize pool for IPL 2024 was INR 46.5 crore, distributed among the winners, runners-up, and other top-performing teams and individuals.
SRH, who finished as runners-up, were awarded INR 13 crore for their commendable performance throughout the tournament.In addition to the top two teams, Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bengaluru also received notable prize money for their achievements. Sanju Samson’s Rajasthan Royals, who secured the third position, took home INR 7 crore. Meanwhile, Faf du Plessis’ Royal Challengers Bengaluru, finishing fourth, were awarded INR 6.5 crore.
Individual performances were also recognized with financial rewards.
Virat Kohli of RCB, who won the Orange Cap for being the highest run-scorer of the season with 741 runs in 15 matches, received INR 10 lakh. Kohli’s stellar performance included a century and five fifties, with a remarkable strike rate of 154.69.

Punjab Kings’ pacer Harshal Patel clinched the Purple Cap for taking the most wickets in the season. His tally of 24 wickets in 14 matches earned him a prize of INR 10 lakh.
Additional accolades included Sunrisers’ Nitish Kumar Reddy, who was named the Emerging Player of the Season for his impressive all-round performance.
KKR’s seasoned spinner Sunil Narine was honored as the Most Valuable Player of the Year, further highlighting the contributions that led KKR to their third IPL title.
