Wasim Akram hits back at critics of Pakistan team – SUCH TV

Former captain Wasim Akram did not hold back after a fan accused the Pakistan cricket team of being selfish, in a local sports show, following the Green Shirts’ 62-run loss against Australia in Bengaluru, India, on Friday.

Akram, who captained the Pakistani team in two World Cups, took the fan to the cleaners and stated that he is there to talk about the performance of the team.

“You made a lot of efforts to write nonsense,” Akram began as he started to answer the question asking if Pakistan’s team is selfish.

“We are here to talk about the performance of the team. If they play well, we will appreciate them, if they play bad, we will call them out. That is what we are here for. Be positive in life, I feel for people around you how much negativity you transfer to them.”

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan is currently having a tough time in the World Cup after suffering back-to-back defeats against arch-rivals India and Australia in Ahmedabad and Bengaluru.

The Green Shirts also have two victories to their name but they came against relatively weak sides of the Netherlands and Sri Lanka, with the latter missing a few key players.

Pakistan will play Afghanistan, who are in high spirits despite a defeat in their last match, on the tricky and spinning wicket of Chennai on October 23.
